Preparing to Endure
“But now, most importantly, prepare your spirit, your mind in the Word, and your body to endure.”
It’s the day after the election, and my heart is heavy. I asked God to put my head on straight—to open my ears to hear, my eyes to see, and my heart to understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to me, to the Church, and to our nation.
Can you identify with this? When you’ve prayed, fasted, voted, and hoped—and then the results come in and your heart sinks. You wonder, Lord, what just happened?
A Familiar Story
When I stepped back to look from heaven’s vantage point, I saw a familiar story. Israel left Egypt for the unknown, carrying only what they could. When fear set in, Moses and a remnant knew who to trust—but many others, who didn’t truly know God for themselves, used their “stuff” to create an idol. Then, longing for comfort, they wanted to turn back to Egypt.
Sound familiar?
In our own way, this election season felt much the same. Many believed that by electing “47,” we were leaving behind our own Egypt—the Egypt of economic stress, anxiety, confusion, and the persecution of common sense. We longed to escape the foolish decisions, the moral inversion, and the constant assault on truth.
We hoped for freedom.
But it hasn’t quite happened that way, has it?
Just as Israel faced the wilderness before reaching the promised land, we now face a choice of our own:
Will we be the remnant who trust God in uncertainty, or the crowd who turn back to what’s familiar when faith requires endurance?
Hearing the Call to Courage
For days before the election, I kept hearing the Holy Spirit whisper, “Be of good courage.”
He was reminding me that He is with us—not just when the outcome looks promising, but especially when it doesn’t.
As I sat with that phrase, I realized courage isn’t about who sits in the highest office of the land; it’s about who reigns in the highest place of our hearts.
So I turned my mourning into prayer. I began asking God for His wisdom, His strategies, His plans and purposes for this nation—and for His Church.
The Battle Behind the Systems
The Word of God tells us that we have a table prepared for us in the presence of our enemies. It tells us that our weapons are not carnal, but mighty through God to tear down strongholds and everything that exalts itself against Him.
And isn’t that what all the isms of the world attempt to do?
Socialism, communism, Nazism, and the radical political ideology of Islamism—all seek to establish systems that elevate themselves above God. These are not mere political theories; they are spiritual powers that challenge His sovereignty.
A Word of Pursuit and Promise
Then the Lord brought to mind the story of David and his men in 1 Samuel 30. While they were away fighting one battle, the Amalekites invaded their home city, burned it to the ground, and took their wives and children captive. Scripture says, “David and his men wept until they had no strength left to weep.” (1 Samuel 30:4)
But then—when he had nothing left—David turned to the Lord.
He inquired of God, and the Lord answered, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”(1 Samuel 30:8)
That word pierced my spirit. I felt the Lord saying to me—and to us:
“Be of good courage. Be strong. Get up.
Walk in everything that is good, pure, true, and just.
Remember—you are a co-heir with Christ.
You have My authority and My promises.
I gave My children a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night to guide them through the wilderness. I supplied all their needs.
How much more have I given you?
I gave you My Son. I gave you My Spirit.
I’ve given you more than a fire to follow—
I’ve made you a flame to lead others out of their wilderness into the promised land.
Though others choose the wilderness, I chose you to manifest My glory in the midst of it.
So rise up like David and his mighty men.
Rise up and be of good courage like Joshua and his men.
Rise up like Jesus, My Son, and step into His resurrection victory—
for this is a season of signs, wonders, and miracles…
a season of greater things.”
The Remnant Will Stand

I don’t know what the days ahead will bring, but I know this:
God is calling His people to rise.
We are not to crumble in fear or retreat into despair.
We are called to prepare our spirit, renew our mind in His Word, and strengthen our bodies to endure—because we were born for this moment in history.
He has chosen us to carry His light into the wilderness.
And though the world trembles, His remnant will stand.
