Here's My Cup, Lord

“Come and dine, the Master calls, come and dine.
You can feast at Jesus’ table any time.
He who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
To the hungry calls now, ‘Come and dine.’”
This morning I found myself saying to the Lord, I need a dose of joy today.
And immediately, this song came to mind.
As I listened, I felt the Lord gently remind me—and as I’m reminded, I remind you too—
Ask, and it shall be given. Seek, and you will find.
It really is that simple.
So right now, lift the cup of your heart and say with me:
Here’s my cup, Lord. Fill it up, Lord.
Come and quench this thirsting in my soul.
Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more.

There is something about these old hymns—the truths sung in praise—that brings a quiet smile to my heart. They’re the good ones. The steady ones. The songs that have carried generations.
I pray that even reminiscing over them does the same for you today.
And remember:
"The joy of the Lord is our strength." Nehemiah 8:10
