The Veil Was Torn for All of Us

Jesus confronted many things when He walked the earth.

Hypocrisy.

Control.

Spiritual elitism.

Systems that placed a few between God and His people.

He did not dismantle one hierarchy so that we could quietly rebuild another.

And yet, if we are honest, there is a subtle drift that happens in the Church.

We honor leadership.

We honor gifting.

We honor the five-fold ministry — apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.

And honor is right.

But sometimes honor slowly turns into elevation.

Elevation turns into separation.

And separation creates distance.

Certain voices begin to feel closer to God than others.

Certain titles begin to imply greater favor.

Without meaning to, we begin to treat access as though it belongs to the few.

But the truth is, the veil was torn.

The death and resurrection of Jesus did not produce a new spiritual elite.

It produced sons and daughters.

Under the old covenant, prophets and priests stood in roles few could occupy.

Under the new covenant, we are all called:

A royal priesthood.

A holy nation.

A people belonging to God.

The five-fold ministry was given to equip the saints — not to replace them.

To mature the body — not to mediate between God and the body.

We honor authority.

We honor maturity.

We honor those who have walked faithfully and carry wisdom.

But a role does not make someone more loved, more valuable, or more favored than another believer.

If anything, it makes them more accountable to God.

Leadership is not elevation; it is stewardship.

And stewardship carries weight.

Jesus consistently lifted the overlooked.

He warned about seats of honor.

He taught that how we treat “the least of these” reveals our true alignment.

In His kingdom, a title is not proof of favor.

The prophetic does not exist to create dependence.

It exists to strengthen, encourage, edify, and confirm what we are already learning to hear in intimacy.

We are not meant to stand at a distance.

We are invited near.

This is a call back to intimacy.

A call into deeper relationship with Him.

If We Have Felt the Distance

If we have ever sensed that our questions were labeled rebellion…

If we have noticed a gap between what we read in Scripture and what we experienced in certain environments…

If we longed for love and fruit but encountered control instead…

We are not imagining things.

Scripture does not tell us to judge by platform or title.

It tells us to test the spirit and judge the fruit.

And the fruit of the Spirit is:

  • Love

  • Joy

  • Peace

  • Patience

  • Kindness

  • Goodness

  • Faithfulness

  • Gentleness

  • Self-control

Where this fruit is growing, the Spirit is at work.

Where love is lacking and control is dominating, something is misaligned.

Sometimes leaders who are wounded themselves tighten structure rather than humble themselves. Sometimes weakness hides behind authority. The damage done may not even be fully seen by those causing it — but it is fully known to God.

Have mercy on all of us, Lord.

What the Father Is Saying to You

Beloved, you do not need permission to draw near.

You do not need a title to hear My voice.

You do not need elevation to access intimacy with Me.

I have already given you the keys.

Unshackle yourself from anything that makes you believe My favor must be earned.

Come close.

Do not be afraid of freedom.

Be in awe.

Awe is not intimidation.

Awe is reverence.

Awe is receiving unconditional love.

If you stumble, I will lift you.

If you question, I will guide you.

If you are wounded, I will tend to you.

You cannot fail when you walk with Me.

The joy of My heart is to see you whole — just as I envisioned you when I formed you in your mother’s womb.

You are not a spectator in My kingdom.

You are My son.

You are My daughter.

And My Spirit dwells within you.
