The Prophetic Fire of Love

That truth pierced me. As a watchman-type prophetic voice, I sometimes forget this. I forget that even God’s warnings are drenched in love. The prophetic is not about pointing out every flaw or failure; it is about revealing His heart.

We are called to speak from the fire of love—straight from the Holy of Holies, the council chambers of eternity. The prophetic is not a weapon for tearing down alone; it is an impartation of wisdom, revelation, and above all, the Father’s love.

Our Father breaks the shackles of imperfection. He realigns our view of earthly fathers. His love is rich, deep, and kind. It melts mountains, clears away barriers, and shines light into the hidden corners of our hearts. Sometimes His love comes like an axe; other times, like the fine tool of a surgeon. But always, it flows from the fiery vision of His heart—that His people would carry His love and display His glory.

I saw this firsthand in my early years with the Lord when I spent time with a Hutterite community in Bright, Ontario, Canada. They had just encountered the Holy Spirit, which split their community wide open. The religious spirit that had shaped generations could not stand against the fire of God.

Some clung to self-righteousness, shunning those baptized in the Spirit. But the ones who welcomed Holy Spirit embraced us—hippies and Jesus freaks with long hair and ragged clothes—because they recognized us as an answer to prayer. They needed workers for their harvest, and God sent us on a bus with these words painted on the side: “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

They could have judged us, but instead they loved us. They fed us, cared for us, and gave us room to grow. They let Holy Spirit do His transforming work in us without condemnation. When our time with them ended, they even blessed us with clothing and money.

This is the Father’s love in action—the prophetic fire that melts hearts, not by legalism, but by kindness that leads to repentance.

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2).
