Experience brings a certain sobriety. When you have lived through trauma—or watched others endure systems that steal dignity and worth—you begin to recognize the markers long before others see them. And once you see those markers, you cannot ignore them. You begin to understand how easily a person’s worth can be stolen—and why protecting human dignity matters so deeply.
